Beauty resolutions that you can definitely stick to in 2022

There’s always much excitement in the new year, a clean slate for a fresh new start to make changes for a better you! And that’s no different when it comes to your skin too. With each passing year, we should reevaluate our beauty habits and look at how it can work harder and smarter for our skin, without compromising on time and effort.

These skincare resolutions are ones we’re sure you can stick with in 2022 for a better complexion and a happier you!

#1 Shop smart for your skincare

Skincare products that used to work for us in our 20s may not work for us when we are in our 30s, 40s and 50s. Take the new year to assess your skincare products, their formulation and their efficacy. Take a good hard look at your skin and determine what your skin concerns are. Spend a little time researching for ingredients that will be beneficial for your skin and your skin’s concerns and maybe even consider setting up a new skincare routine for yourself.

Your skin will thank you for it and so will your wallet, as you’ll be buying what works and not wasting money on experimenting on what you think will. Cue point number 2 below.

#2 Be less wasteful with your beauty products

When we step into a shop or when a new product has dropped, many of us want to be the first to get our hands on them, whether we really need them or not.

As we approach the 21st century, sustainability remains a hot topic for many of us, be it clothes, accessories and even beauty products, and it’s easy for beauty products to become a big source of waste if we don’t purchase them wisely. Stop to think if it’s a want or need. If you decide to get them, consider opting for reusable products like face towels and micro fibre face pads. #3 Add one new product at a time into your skincare regime

This is another way to help minimize waste. If you want to introduce a new skincare product in your regime, we suggest you do it slowly. Skincare products can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to show results so if you want to see if it’s working, it pays to be patient.

#4 Set aside time once a week for a little self-care

It’s easy to get caught up with the monotony of everyday life. As one day rolls into the next (especially if we continue to work from home), we tend to forget to take care of ourselves.

Setting aside a little time once a week can do wonders not just for your skin, but also for your sense of wellbeing. It could be Sunday evenings for you to get into the habit of exfoliating your skin and doing a mask, or two. Throw in a bubble bath if you can or some time to tweeze those eyebrows and get any unwanted hair under control.
